Parivahan Sewa is the unified digital backbone of India's Road Transport Authorities, operated by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The Sarathi sub-system handles all driving licence (DL) workflows — learner's licence, permanent DL, renewal, change of address, hazardous-cargo endorsements — across every State and Union Territory Regional Transport Office (RTO). Verifiers (employers, vehicle rental firms, insurance companies) can confirm whether a DL number is currently valid, the issuing RTO, the vehicle classes endorsed, and the validity period. Each DL also carries a QR code that, when scanned, returns identical authentication data without revealing the holder's full demographic record.
