The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) is the statutory body under the Company Secretaries Act 1980 that regulates the profession of Company Secretaryship. Every member receives an ICSI Membership Number (prefixed ACS or FCS) along with a Certificate of Practice (CoP) where applicable. Listed companies, ROC offices, recruiters and corporate clients verify CS membership when appointing whole-time KMPs, signing secretarial audit reports under SS-1/SS-2/SS-4, or filing e-forms at MCA. The 'Find a CS' service surfaces the member's name, qualification status, contact and CoP validity.
