Gauhati University has announced admissions for its 2026 undergraduate, postgraduate, M.Phil, PhD, and diploma programmes. Interested candidates from Assam and beyond can apply through the university’s centralised online portal by completing the registration, uploading academic and category documents, and paying the required fee. Admission to each programme is either entrance-based or merit-based, as detailed in the official Information Bulletin. After entrance results or merit lists are published, candidates will participate in counselling, choice filling, and seat allotment rounds. The university strictly follows Assam Government reservation policies, ensuring seats for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS, PwD, women, defence wards, and other eligible groups. Special provisions exist for foreign, NRI, and sponsored-quota applicants, who must follow a separate application process if applicable.
