SPARSH (System for Pension Administration — Raksha) is the integrated pension administration platform of the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare and the Controller General of Defence Accounts. Approximately 33 lakh defence pensioners — Army, Navy, Air Force, defence civilians, and family pensioners — manage their PPO, Aadhaar seeding, life-certificate submission and grievance redress through SPARSH. Each PPO carries a 12-digit PPO Number; the holder verifies pension status, monthly remittance and DR/DA arrears on the portal. Banks (PDA — Pension Disbursing Authorities) push transaction confirmations back into SPARSH for end-to-end reconciliation. Service Records Officers approve PPO corrections through the same workflow.
